Step 1 Revision

1. Talk about the twins and Mike’s birthdays

T: In Unit 8 we talk about the twins and Mike’s birthday .Do you remember whose birthday is on the eighth of April?

S: Mike’s birthday.

T: When’s Su Hai’s birthday?

S: It’s on the eleventh of May.

2. Pair work: Choose one of them to say something about the birthday.

S1: We’re Su Hai and Su Yang. Our birthday is on the …

In this lesson, we’ll have some learning aims. Look at the learning aims. First, I know the sound of the letters “th”. Then, I can name some birthday activities. Finally, I can ask and answer questions about dates. (PPT出示teaching aims)

Step 3 New teaching

1. Sound time

(1) T: Look at this picture. The little girl has a happy family. Today she wants to introduce her family members to us. How can she introduce?

(出示Sound time图片中女孩)

T: She wants to introduce her father. What can she say?

S: This is my father.

T: Can you guess where he works?

S: He works in the … (学生猜测)

【设计意图：通过生与师的问答，再次复习巩固本单元的重点句型When’s …?和What do you do on your birthday?，以及序数词的使用，教师的书写给学生一个示范，帮助学生更好的完成练习。】

3. Culture time

T: Oh you and your family do a lot of things on the birthday. When the birthday, do you often get a lot of presents?

S: Yes.

T: Do you open your presents as soon as you receive them?

(学习 as  soon as  receive)

S: No, I open my presents after birthday party.

T: But people in the West usually open their presents as soon as they receive them.

(在接收礼物时，中国人和西方人的反应有所不同。在中国，人们接收礼物时一般不喜形于色，反而会推辞以表示客气。即使收下礼物后，中国人也一般不会当送礼物人的面打开礼品。而在西方，人们通常会欣然接收礼物并表示感谢。同时，他们会当场小心地打开礼物，称赞一番，表示自己非常喜欢。)

说课

此课时板块内容较零散，教师通过目标导学，将板块进行了整合，分成三个板块进行教学。

Sound time 教学通过看图师生问答，学生通过老师圈出的重点单词来寻找这些单词的共同点，通过听力感知体验字母组合th的发音规则，并根据发音规律朗读老师所给单词，并能举例。通过对单词朗读归类，帮助学生与U7字母th读音进行区别，复习旧知，巩固新知，培养学生学习能力。

对Checkout time进行分解整合，Write and say部分在学生与老师问答的基础上，教师示范书写，然后让学生仿照写一写，说一说，加深理解与记忆。

 Culture time教学，通过比较中西方人们在生日聚会收到礼物后的不同反应，帮助学生了解中西方文化的差异。最后，通过一些图片展示，让学生了解更多中西方过生日的不同，激发学生对中西方文化了解的兴趣。
