Step 2 Let’s review
1. Do a judge
T: Miss Li, Su Hai, Mike are talking about their birthdays. Look at the pictures, and listen to the tape again. After listening, let’s do a judge.
(教师边出示课文图片边播放录音,帮助学生回忆)
(1) Su Hai’s birthday is on the 11th of May.
(2) They usually have a big lunch with family.
(3) The twins eat rice on birthday.
(4) Mike’s birthday is in April.
(5) Mike eats a cake and play games with his friends.

2. Retell the story.
T: What do Su Hai and Mike do on their birthdays? I can show you some words and phrases to help you.
(教师出示词组:Have a big dinner, have a party, play some games, eat noodles, play with the cat, eat the birthday cake, buy a birthday cake, friends. )

2. Let’s guess
T: You did a good job. Now, let me shuffle them. (教师洗牌) Next,put these cards into the box. Then, put the box into my pocket. Look! (老师做变魔术的动作,然后从口袋里拿出事先准备好的另一副牌,并从盒子中拿出牌)
T: I know the cards. The first one, first, first. (带读) The first one is K. Oh, that’s right. The second one. (同样让学生跟读两遍) The second one is Q.

T: Now, clever children, look at the blackboard, please. Just now, we learned the first, the first (学生跟读,教师在黑板的简易日历阿拉伯数字1后面写上st,同方法从2nd写到5th,教师用手指向学生演示数字,学生说出其序数词,重点练习 5th;再依次引导学生说出下面的序数词,一直到19th;20th注意引导注意读音,21st 、22nd、23rd、引导学生自己发现,一直到31st;教师带领学生把比较易错的再读一遍)
T: Our birthday can be expressed by the ordinal numbers. It’s a little difficult, Please look again. Can you tell me the rules?

【设计意图:序数词的教学,主要是引导学生自己发现规律进行朗读和学习,达到知识迁移的目的,同时也增加学生的记忆力,而利用琅琅上口的小诗,为学生书面的变形加深印象。】

说课
本节课是义务教育教科书英语五年级下册第八单元Birthdays第二课时Grammar time。本课的教学目标设定为以下四点:1. 进一步巩固并掌握故事中出现的词汇eleventh, eighth, together, birthday, April, game;2. 进一步巩固并掌握四会句型When’s your birthday?\It’s on …\What do you do on your birthday?\I usually …;3. 能够正确复述课文;4. 能理解并掌握常用序数词的用法及规则。
序数词的变化是本节课的教学重点,也是教学难点。
在复习导入环节,教师通过一首Months of the year song对之前所学月份进行复习,既为日期的表达做了铺垫,又营造了一个轻松的氛围。再利用谈话的方式复习上一节课所教的语言,教师自己的生日介绍为下面学生介绍自己生日做铺垫,并以此引出课文的复习。课文复习环节主要通过听课文判断和复述课文对其进行复习,教师在复述环节,利用给予的动词短语,降低了学生复述的难度。语法教学环节,教师通过一个猜牌的张数并数牌的游戏对基数词进行复习,再利用一个小游戏让学生感知并学习序数词的表达方法。在解密游戏后,利用当堂板书的方式对序数词进行巩固,引导学生自主发现书写规律。再利用一首琅琅上口的诗歌让孩子们记住序数词变化的规律,使得枯燥的语法变得具有趣味性。
巩固环节让孩子们从自己的生日说说父母的生日及生日时父母做的事和自己做的事,培养孩子们敬爱父母的感情。
