一、单元主题分析

六年级上册Unit 4 Then and now这一单元话题为“过去和现在”,属于“人与自我”和“人与社会”主题范畴,涉及“生活与学习”、“社会服务与人际沟通”、“科学与技术”主题群,“身边的事物与环境”、“家庭与家庭生活”、“学校生活与个人感受”、“同伴交往”等子主题。

Story time分为四个段落,用一般过去时和一般现在时分别描述了Mike, Mr Brown, GrandpaMrs Brown过去和现在的不同生活方面,呈现了个人自身的成长变化和科技对生活及工作的影响。通过学习,学生应该能够熟练地朗读课文,并根据T字型表格、思维导图、关键词等复述课文,并在观察、交流、思考、展示等环节中,提升思维、学习和英语语用能力。通过对比,学生能够思考自己的成长变化,了解和思考科技发展对人们生活的影响,使孩子形成热爱美好生活,快时代不忘关心家人的理念。

二、教学目标

1. 学生能听懂、会说、会读、会写下列单词: ago, office, newspaper,news, watch, e-book.

2. 学生能听懂、会说、会读、会写下列句型::...ago, he/she... Now he/she...,并能用以上句型描述他人过去和现在的对比

3. 学生能阅读、理解、概括文本信息,提炼出“过去与现在变化”语篇关键信息,完成思维导图,并能基于思维导图和关键词,运用目标语言夏述文本内容。

4. 学生能通过观察、比较、展示等方式,对比Mike一家人的过去和现在。在语境中感知过去与现在的对比,感受个人的成长和社会的进步。

5. 通过阅读小故事,学生能够体会到“生活在变,但爱不变”的情感,形成多关爱家长的意识。

三、教学过程

Before class: lets check preview task

T: Before this class,Lets check your preview. Can you read these words? Do you know the changes?

T: Today were going to learn about Mike and his familys changes, heres the topic.
Step1. lead in

1. know about me

(1) listen to the chant

T: You know Im your new English teacher today. From then to now, what happened to me? I’ll tell you with a chant. 

(2) Talk about me

T: These are all my changes. You know me now, so can you talk about me?

S: 24 years ago, you ....

T: So these are all my changes about growth.What about Mike and their family?

Step2. while reading

1. read and match:

T: Please read the story quickly, try to match the texts with 4 changes.. 1 min,go.

T: Now lets go into the first part. Mikes changes about growth

T: Mobile phones are useful, but dont use too much. We should learn to limit the using time

Heres a story for you .You can listen or read.

T: Was grandma happy? How do you know?

T: Yes, things may change, but love is still. When the technology is developing so fast, dont just look at the e-products. But care more about our family members.
