一、课题
译林版小学英语六上Unit 6 Keep our city clean (Story time)
二、教材简析
本单元围绕城市卫生环境这一话题,以今昔宜兴的市容环境对比为切入口,通过询问城市市容环境“脏、乱、差”的成因以及如何改善市容环境,使之变得“洁、齐、美”,提出建议展开对话,话题贴近学生生活。通过本课的学习,引导学生发现城市环境卫生存在的问题,并思考解决问题的方法,从而增强环保意识,更加珍惜和热爱城市环境。
三、目标预设
1. 能听懂,会读,会说单词:air,smoke,rubbish,messy,dead,move...away from,bin,plant,more等。
2 能听懂,会读,会说句子:What makes ...dirty/messy? ...make(s)... dirty/messy. 。
3. 能正确地理解并朗读课文,在教师的引导和帮助下尝试复述课文内容,并能初步运用本课所学的词汇和句型谈论城市环境卫生存在的问题,并尝试提出解决方法。
4. 通过本课的学习,培养学生交流合作能力、观察对比分析问题能力、探究解决问题能力、自主学习能力;增强学生的环保意识,能在实际生活中关注环境卫生。
四、重点、难点
教学重点:能正确理解并朗读对话内容,并能在教师的引导和帮助下复述课文。
教学难点:能初步运用本课所学的词汇和句型谈论城市环境卫生存在的问题,并尝试提出其他的解决方法。
五、设计理念
六要素整合的英语学习活动观是指学生在主题意义引领下,通过学习理解、应用实践、迁移创新等一系列英语学习活动,基于已有的知识,依托不同类型的语篇,在分析问题和解决问题的过程中,促进自身语言知识学习、语言技能发展、文化内涵理解、多元思维发展、价值取向判断和学习策略运用。因此,本节课执教者坚持“学生是学习的主体,把课堂还给学生”这一新课标理念,教学设计努力做到基于生情,从学生的已知、已能出发,引导学生开展由易至难、循序渐进的学习活动,促进学生意义学习。通过创设合理的情境,引领学生在情境中利用形成和内化了的结构化知识去分析问题和解决问题,使得学生在语言能力得到发展的同时,思维品质与文化意识也得到了培养,进而实现语言技能向学科素养的转化。
教学过程:
Step 1Warm up
1.Watch a video: About Yixing
T: What do you think of Yixing?
S: I think it’s clean, new, beautiful, nice, modern, wonderful, amazing, fashion...
2.Look at some old pictures of Yixing
Guess: Do you know what city it is?——Yixing 30 years ago
T: What do you think of Yixing30 years ago?
S: It was old ,small ...
T: It was messy and dirty.(新授messy dirty)
3.Compare the city now and 30 years ago
T: Look at the two pictures. Which one do you like to live in A or B?
T: Why do you like living in the clean city?
S: comfortable, healthy...
4.Compare and think:
T: When you live in a dirty and messy city, what will happen to you?
S: We will be sick.
We can’t swim in the rivers and lakes.
The air is dirty./We have no fresh air.
We can’t see clearly.
We can’t drink the clean water./There is no clean water to drink.
T: Everybody would like to live in a clean and tidy city. So we should keep our city clean.(揭题贴课题)

Step 2 Presentation
1.Look and guess
T: Look, Miss Li and her students are talking about their city too. Why do they talk about their city? Look at the pictures and have a guess.
S: Because the city is dirty and messy.
T: Is that so? Let’s listen.
2.Listen and answer
T: (播放课文录音)Now, can you fill in the blanks?
The city is ________. They want to find ways to keep the city ________.
3.Look and ask
T: (呈现P58四幅图片)Look at the pictures, what is dirty?
S: air, river, street(板书)
T: Boys and girls, actually these we’ve called “Problems”.
T: I have a question for you. What makes the air dirty?
Can you ask some questions like this?
S: What makes the river dirty? What makes the streets messy and dirty?
4.Read and underline
T: Please read P58 and underline the answer. Find out the reasons.(贴板书)
T: We can use the sentence:“What makes what?”

T: I have some sentences, you try to read.

S: Try to read the long sentences.
T: Let’s read together, pay attention to this very short pause. Why should we pause? Because this is “意群”。
T: Next sentence: There’s rubbish in the water and the fish are dead. Try to read it.
6.Let’s predict
T: We know smoke and rubbish makes the city dirty and messy.(指板书)If you live in a dirty city, Do you have any ideas to make the city clean?
S: No smoke. /No littering./No air pollution. /We can go to school by bus./We can walk to school./...
7.Read and match
T: Your ideas are great. What about the students’ ideas? What can they do to keep their city clean?
First, read P59. Then, find out the solutions and finish the work sheet.(板书solutions)

9.T: What can they do to keep their city clean?

T: We can move some factories away from our city. Do you have any questions about this solution?
S: It’s not a good idea. The other places will be dirty too if we move factories to other cities.
T: What can we do?
S: Think and talk with their partners.

T: Why should we plant more trees?
S: Because they help keep the air clean. They can purify air.
T:We can put rubbish in the bin. Can you throw rubbish in a correct way?

T:If there is no bin nearby. What can we do?
S: We can put the rubbish in our pockets or bags.

T: 30 years ago, Yixing was messy and dirty. Now, it’s clean and beautiful. What did people do? Please discuss in pairs.
S: (Compare the pictures)Thirty years ago there was much rubbish in the streets. Now, there is no rubbish in the streets. People put rubbish in the bin.
T: Is it good for the city?
Thirty years ago, there were many factories in the city. Now,there aren’t many factories in the city. people close many factories./people move some factories away from the city.

Thirty years ago, children walked to school ,now children go to school by car.People work hard, have a lot of money.

T: From the pictures,Yixing becomes a good place to live in now. We know a lot of people did a lot of things in these years. So we should keep our city clean forever. Start from us! Better city, better life.
