教学目标:

教学过程:

Step 1 Warm up

Enjoy a short flash Everyone is different.

1. Greeting

2. T:Do you like animals? What animals do you like?(Are they our good friends? Do   you often play with them? Do you have a pet dog/cat?)

What animals do I like best? Can you guess? Here are some tips.(They are colourful. Some of them live in the forest./They can fly. )

3. I like birds best. They can fly. I adore them.     

There are many beautiful and lovely birds in the forest. They sing and play happily.

4. What birds do you like(parrot, sparrow, pigeon, swallow, eagle, woodpecker, flamingo, red-crowned crane)

Can you introduce (介绍)them?

For example, I like flamingoes. They have long legs and pink bodies. They are very nice.

5. Birds are our friends. Today our story is about the birds too.

Look at the cover. Whats the title? (揭题)  

Here are three birds. They are the characters. Do you know them?

  teach: swift----swim    magpie----- bag   pie

 Look at their face and actions. How are they looking at the black bird?(adoringly.admiring  envious    

WhyDo you want to knowLets go to the birds world together.

 

Step 2

1. Look, whos coming?

2. Please turn to P4look at the picture and read the text.

Whos Nick? (He is a small black swift. )

Look at his face.How is he? (He is shy/unhappy/sad.)

3. Why? Now you are Nick, you can sayIm I don’t (Im small. I dont have colourful wings. ...). How poor! Nick is a small black swift. He is always alone. Hes too shy to make friends.   (teach:shy   she,fly)

4. But there are many other birds in the forest, too. Maybe they are willing to make friends with Nick. Who are they?  Lets listen and tick.

5. Look at the birds Nick meets, try to divide the story into 3 parts and fill in the blanks.

Part1: P6-11    Nick meets the_________

Part2: P12-16   Nick meets the_________

Part3: P17-20    Nick meets the_________

 

Step 3 Part1

1. You did a good job. Which bird does Nick meet first?(出示喜鹊尾巴) Look at the magpie. How does Nick think? Listen to Nick. Please fill in the blanks. (teach: scissors)  

2. Lets check: Are you right? If you are right,put up your hands.   

What does he want?

How is Nick?  (adoring)

Read in pairs .Try to imitate Nicks tone and read with actions.

Nick wants a beautiful long tail so much. He has a good idea.

What does he find? Then what does he do?

Read p8 carefully and discuss in pairs. 

3. He finds some peacock feathers to decorate his tail. (teach: feathers) How does Nicks tail look? How is Nick now?

4. Is he still unhappy?

Now you are Nick, can you show your tail?(Look at my beautiful tail! How coolI love my new tail)

5.But at last, he is unhappy. Why? Watch the cartoon and know the end.

Why does Nick lose his balance?

Why are the feathers too heavy for Nick?

Does the beautiful long tail fit Nick? So he throws the feathers away.(做动作)

Is it a good idea?

6. Can you Use adjectives to describe Nicks feelings. Look at his face and actions.  At first...then...at last...

 

Step 4 Part2

  He has a short tail now.

1. But he sees the colourful wings, which bird does Nick meet?  

(Can you ask any questions about Nick?

What does he want?   What does he find?    What happens? ...)

2. Scan p12-16, circle the keywords and discuss in groups, you can look at this flow chart.

3. Look, the parrot spreads his colourful wings.

  What does he want? Listen to him.

  According to his thought, how does he look like?(teach: a piece of coal)   

So he wants......  Ss: a pair of colourful wings.  

Read in four and imitate. Please pay attention to your tone and action. Here we go!

4. Nick doesnt like his black wings.  

What does he find?  What does he do?  Read p15 and find the answers.

How do they look?(bright and colourful)  

He has colourful wings now, what does he do?  He flies happily in the sky.

What happens? Listen.    

The rain washes away the paints. Nick's wings become black again.

Look at these pictures, how does Nicks feeling change?

 

Step 5 Part 3

Nick failed again. He is so disappointed. An accident changes him. What happens?

1. Watch the cartoon

Who saves the young bird

Why can Nick save the young bird ? He can fly swiftly. Here swiftly means敏捷地

2. The young bird's mother comes.

Watch and answer: How does she thank for NickYou two please, you are Nick and you are the young birds mother.

3. Look at their actions. (做动作) How are they looking at Nick now?   Adoringly

How do they praise Nick?  Who can read?

(Youre so cool. You looked like a flash just now.)

How is Nick now?   (He is confident.)

4. Reading time:Its an interesting story. Please turn to page4, lets try to read after the tape. Are you ready, go!

5. Reading time:  You read so well. Choose one way to read in groups.

Read after one    Read together    Read in roles

6.Show timeafter class

7.You read/act so well. Big hands!

Its a meaningful story. What do you learn from this story?
