Teaching Procedures

Designing aims

Step1:  Presentation

1. Introduce the TV programme Voice by Sa Beining.

2. Guess who the Guest is according to the hobby, birthplace, basketball team and university. (Lin Shuhao)

3. Show some sentences about Lin Shuhao using the adverbial clauses introduced by before and after.

4. Work out the rules: Before means earlier than a certain time; after means later than a certain time.

Step2:  Practice

1. Put the sentences together with before or after.

2. Fill in the blanks with before or after according to the information about Lin Shuhao.

3. Say something about the NBA career of Lin.

Step3: Presentation

1. Listen to Lin’s speech and answer some questions.

2. Introduce the use of until/ till , as soon as and whenever.

3. Do some exercises: finish an interview.

 在语境中学习相关状语从句。

Step4: Presentation

1. Watch a video about a story in the waxwork museum.Answer the questions: When/while the visitors/his mum/the uncle was/were doing ...,what happened?

2. Sam up: the difference and similarity between when and while.

3. Make sentences with when and while.

4. Some exercises about using when and while.

Help complete the passage about Lin Shuhao: The secret to Lin’s success.
