Designing aims

Step I Presentation：

To learn the organs of speech.

Ask Ss to read the each group of words and find the same sounds.

通过学生读以前学过含有aeiou这些字母的单词来熟悉他们的发音。

Step II Explanation

1. Explain the rules of the sounds of International Phonetic Alphabet.

2. Watch videos of the sounds of International Phonetic Alphabet.

通过讲解和观看视频来正确发音

Step III A game

1. Ask students to read a new groups of words.

2. Explain to students:

  当元音字母位于重读开音节单词中时，通常发它们本身的读音。

什么是开音节呢？一般来说，开音节包含两种情况：

1. 以一个元音字母结尾的重读音节。这个元音字母在单词中发它本身的音，如no中字母 o，he中字母e，we中字母e等。

2. 在含有一个元音字母的重读音节中，在元音字母后有一个辅音字母(r 除外)加一个不发音的字母e，这个元音字母在单词中发它本身的音，如name中的字母a，fine 中的字母i，cute中的u等。

用游戏的方式检测学生是否会能发准这些音。

Step IV More practice

1.      Ask students to put more words into a group.     

2.      Ask students to read the sentences of part C on page 15.

通过练习来检测学生是否掌握这些字母在单词中的发音。

Step V Homework

1. Try to find more words and put them into a group then find the rules of the same letters .
