Step 1

Warm-Up

(1) T shows expressions of titles and industries. Ss read the expressions after T. T asks Ss to interpret the expressions and provides assistance if needed.

Introduction and prediction

 

Situation: The ideal job doesn't simply appear out of nowhere for many people. They must seek it out, strive for it, and obtain it. Read to discover what makes a job so attractive.

 

T asks Ss to read the situation and title of the text to answer questions: What is career satisfaction? How can people in different job positions achieve career satisfaction?

 

T asks Ss to predict: Which professions/ Who shares their         ideas of career satisfaction in the passage?

(2) T introduces the structure features of the narrative text: the paragraphs of the text are parallel, telling the stories of different professionals separately, and maybe there is no obvious logical connection between the individual stories, but they all revolve around a common theme, making the text clearly structured and easy to understand.

Step 4 Post-reading

(1) T presents the chart of volunteer positions, responsibilities and qualifications and asks Ss to think  about the descriptions of the responsibilities and qualifications of each position.
