book 2 unit 7 nice weather, nice mood reading and writing

Step 1  Warming up

1. Display two music videos made by students and lead in a task -- to make a music video or micro-film.

2. Show the results of survey conducted before class on Chaoxing platform and decide the weather the class is going to make as a topic of the music video or micro-film.

3. Recommend four leaders and the leaders are responsible for organizing their teams.

 通过展示学生已经完成的作品,自然导入本课视频拍摄任务,激发学习兴趣。课前任务布置,引导学生为课堂做好准备。

  

Step 2  While-reading

1. Task 1: Skimming

Students need to skim the passage quickly and try to master the main idea and the format.

 通过文本特征找出体裁,培养略读技巧,找出文章大意。 

2. Task 2: Scanning

(1) Students will scan the diaries and try to finish the table, building relationship between weather and mood .

 Draw the conclusion: Weather will affect mood. Nice weather, nice mood.

(2) Students need to decide the mood they are going to describe according to the weather they chose before the class.

 训练信息查找能力,构建天气和心情之间的联系,贴合单元主题。选择自己组别作品的情绪基调,为接下来的拍摄理念写作定下方向。

 

3. Task 3: Intensive Reading

(1) Listen to the tape and use mind mapping to find out the details of the weather description in two diaries.

One group needs to upload their mind maps onto the group chat and other groups should give their evaluations.

(2) Lead students to find out two opposite moods in the two diaries and and put relative expressions into appropriate columns.

(3) Students need to know that there are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes. There are different definitions on nice weather.

 对文章细节内容进行梳理,组间互评让课堂反馈更加及时,让学生的参与度更全方位。

 

Step 3  Post-reading

1. Occupying microphone game: Students come up with some songs about weather and sing with feelings.

2. Discussion: What details will you shoot to reflect the weather and the mood in the video? Choose one to two groups to present their ideas.

 游戏环节让学生放松,并为后期完成视频任务作出准备。小组完成汇报自己的拍摄理念。

  

 

Step 4  Homework

1. Look for some fancy videos to learn from.

2. Polish the script and each group needs to finish the first draft of the video, which should be uploaded onto Chaoxing Platform.

  要求学生利用各类资源学习,进行课外拓展。将完成的视频初稿上传至学习通平台,有效地利用非课堂时间。
