It has been confirmed that the meeting will be held next week.

The moment the shaking stopped, she signalled to her students to exit the classroom.

3. 尽管时间仓促，他依然提出了一个好主意。(despite; come up with)

Despite the short time, he still came up with a good idea.

1. 这里是火山爆发前最后一个被清空人员的城市。(动词不定式作后置定语; volcano)

This was the last city to be cleared of people before the volcano erupted.

2. 昨天，我去图书馆寻找关于飓风破坏性影响的书籍。(动词不定式作目的状语; destructive)

Yesterday, I went to the library to find books about the destructive impact of hurricanes.

3. 我匆匆地赶到火车站，结果被告知火车已经开走了。(only to do ...)

I hurried to the station, only to be told that the train had left/gone.
