Teaching procedures
Step 1: Lead in
Have students enjoy some pictures about various school clubs of our school.
Have students listen to the principal’s announcement.
Step 2: Listening
1. Pre-listening
Encourage students to predict before listening to the conversation.

Step 5: Writing
1) Have students work in groups of four and number each member.
2) Assign each member a specific task so that the group can cooperate together to finish their proposal.
3) Present an assessment table and remind students to pay particular attention to the features of the proposal.
4) When students finish the writing, have them present their own proposals and evaluate their work according to the assessment table.
Step 6: Writing
1) Send the proposals to our principal and ask students: If you were the principal, would you agree to the proposals and approve of your starting the clubs?
2) Have students read the newly-received reply from the principal.
3) Ask students: After reading his reply, how do you feel?
